Using the Informatica Platform has enabled Asian Paints to slash the time required to run its costing model from 24 hours to just 20 minutes, nearly a 99 per cent reduction in time, said a press release.

“ The new product costing system, based on Informatica, has transformed our operational efficiency,” said Maulik Desai, senior manager system development, Asian Paints.

He further said, “With the Informatica Platform, Asian Paints has been able to achieve a degree of flexibility we used to dream of, greatly increasing our pricing accuracy. Informatica is playing a vital role in our analytical decision making, driving better research, development and marketing decisions based on a consolidated, trusted view of pricing data.”

The solution delivers a consistent, trusted view of costing data across multiple disparate systems to power critical pricing and marketing decisions, cost saving measures, inventory valuations, demand forecasts and income projections.

“Asian Paints illustrates how innovative organizations find fresh uses for timely, trusted data,” said Girish Pancha, executive vice president, Data Integration, Informatica.

He added that the Informatica Platform can be continually leveraged across business initiatives and IT projects to deliver increased value. Companies that standardize on Informatica gain an open, unified and flexible platform for accessing and integrating diverse types of data from various sources. Companies in all industries can deliver at nearly any speed to a range of targets in order to address almost any business challenge or opportunity — and to become, like Asian Paints, true data-driven enterprises.

The new product costing system is the latest part of a larger deployment of the Informatica Platform at Asian Paints, which has standardized on Informatica for data integration enterprise-wide, the release added.
