MUMBAI: US based ASG Software Solutions has opened its India offices in Mumbai and Bangalore with Markus Nowak heading the India operations. The company is also planning to open a development center in India by end of 2006, the location of which is yet to be decided.

According to ASG Software Solutions founder and CEO Arthur Allen, "It is the right time for us to enter India. We have a presence in all major APAC countries and this year, we are opening offices in four countries including India in the APAC region."

The company has been operating in India for more than two years now through its partners Sonata Software, Datapoint and Infotech and is planning to rope in more partners in the large outsourcing category. It is quite upbeat about forging alliances with some of the top Indian software companies.

ASG started its operations in India with five people in sales and technical offices in Mumbai and Bangalore and is planning to double this number by next year. Servicing for more than 10 customers in India, the company expects to have more than 50 customers by year-end and would generate around $one million in the next 12 months. Worldwide, the company reported $200 million revenue last year, of which APAC contributed a meager $10 million.

Apart from India, ASG is planning to open offices in Jakarta, Kualalampur and Thailand this year.

ASG provides integrated software solutions for security management, applications management, operations management, information management, performance management and infrastructure management. It currently has 7,000 clients worldwide in an array of industries, including financial and brokerage services, insurance, healthcare, education, government, telecommunications, technology, manufacturing, and retail.
