NEW DELHI, INDIA: Aricent, a global innovation, technology and service company focused exclusively on communications, today announced that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) has named its Converged Access Software (CAS) as a recipient of a 2008 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award.

Aricent’s CAS is a comprehensive software framework designed for equipment manufacturers to simplify product development and shorten time to market for innovative new residential and small business multi-service gateways. A significant development jumpstart, Aricent’s CAS can reduce time to market and development costs by up to 75per cent as compared with completely organic approaches or integrating different software products from multiple vendors.

According to In-Stat, multi-service business gateway (MSBG) devices will be the means by which nearly all future technology is adopted in the SMB and branch office market segment.  MSBGs are defined as products purposely designed for small business and branch office applications that integrate multiple communication voice, data, and video functions into a single device.  By 2012, In-Stat forecasts the worldwide MSBG market will generate over US $2.7 billion annually, and shipments will grow at a 33per cent Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) over the next five years.

“Demand for multi-service solutions is accelerating across both the small business and the residential communications landscape, driven by the need for faster access, more sophisticated networking requirements, and growing price sensitivity given current economic realities,” said CP Murali, Senior Vice President at Aricent. “Using our Converged Access Software, network equipment manufacturers can quickly and efficiently introduce highly differentiated gateway products for both markets, capitalizing on the multi-billion dollar market for multi-service gateways.”
