Aricent to hire 800 more people by year-end

BANGALORE,INDIA: Aricent, an innovation, technology and outsourcing company focused on the communications industry, today announced plans to expand its global workforce by up to 10 per cent by year end, with a particular emphasis on its India operations.

This hiring initiative is to support its growing customer engagements globally, said a press release. The company aims to add approximately 800 people over the next three months in various centers around the world.

The emphasis for this campaign will be adding additional customer-oriented personnel, including engineers, team leaders and customer support resources, with a high percentage of these new hires being recruited in India.

The company recently reported a significant up-round of financing and record business metrics through the first quarter of its fiscal year, it added.

On October 7, 2008 Aricent also announced that ex-Wipro executive Sudip Nandy would join the company as CEO. "The market demand for Aricent’s products and services continues to accelerate, and we’ve implemented a plan to ramp our hiring in line with the business demands,” said Sanjay Dhawan, president and COO of Aricent.

"As a strategic supplier to over 550 organizations worldwide, one of our top priorities is to ensure that we are able to deliver products and services that meet or exceed our customers’ stringent schedule, quality and budget requirements," he added.

Aricent has more than 8,000 employees working in 33 offices in 19 countries worldwide, the release said. Of this more than 6,000 employees are in India, where it has offices in Gurgaon, Bangalore and Chennai.
