Aricent to hire 1000 engineers in three months

NEW DELHI, INDIA: With claims of over exceeding targets, innovation, technology and services company Aricent said it would hire 1000 engineers in India, within the next three months' time to meet requirement of its customers.

“To enable us to ramp up our business in accordance with the demand, we have plans to recruit 1000 engineers in India over the next 3-4 months. We will also deploy some engineers from this new batch in developing our IPRs, ” said Inderjit Sen, assistant vice president, Talent Acquisition, Aricent in an interaction with CIOL.

Aricent, in last fiscal year, had recruited 2900 engineers globally, out of which the company had major recruitment drive in India.

“In the last fiscal year we had recruited 2300 engineers and despite the economic downturn, honored our offer letters. We look at specific and specialized skills set for hiring as we are known for developing cutting-edge and next-generation technology. In the past we have co-developed some of the world’s first Femtocell, WiMax and in-flight broadband solutions,” added Sen.

Aricent is looking at hiring experienced IT professional in this new batch of recruits. This batch is expected to join the company in the month of July. Out of these 1000 new recruits, 300 engineers will be deployed at Chennai centre.

“At Chennai centre we will be looking for engineers with skill sets to support carrier ethernet, routing, core networks, multi-service business gateways (MSBG), optical transport, LTE Backhaul, LTE eNodeB and more,” said Rakesh Vij, AVP, Business Development, communications infrastructure strategic business unit, Aricent.

The remaining 700 employees will be placed in Gurgaon. Aricent is also working on appraisal of the existing employees which is due to be completed in 15 to 20 days.
