NEW DELHI: Makers of Java Technology, Sun Microsystems has announced a contest for Java developers that may win them an iPod Nano.

Open to Java developers all over the globe, the contestants are required to download Java EE SDK, install it on their systems, take a survey and leave a testimonial on Java EE 5 SDK, earlier J2EE 1.4 SDK or any other SDK downloaded from the official Java website.

The testimonial should reflect an absolutely personal opinion of the developer and should include any one of the following:

  • It can be about features; performance, ease of use, bugs, requests about product features, use case, or anything related to the Java EE SDK.
  • It may demonstrate use of the Java EE SDK in production deployment.
  • Should contain at least one distinguishable sentence related to the Java EE 5 SDK.
  • Should be factual and related to your technology adoption of Sun features with the Java EE 5 SDK and how it helped or has the potential to help your business to be successful.

All Entries will be judged by a panel of experts based on the novelty and originality of the testimonial; usefulness and character of the substantive feedback; the testimonial's interest and appeal to other users of the Java EE 5 SDK; clarity in the expression about the user experience; how the testimonial demonstrates that Java EE features and Java EE 5 SDK features are easy to use, or showcases a production deployment; and/or the ability to use the testimonial to improve any aspect of the Java EE 5 SDK.

In the event of a tie, the person among the tied Entries that best highlights how Java EE features are easy to use will be awarded the grand prize.
