MUMBAI: Gaming seems to be finally catching on in a major way, as animation channel Animax and Sify have joined hands to host an annual gaming competition, Animax Grand Gaming Challenge 2007.

The contest will be conducted at over 60 cities in India through the Sify cyber café chain. Games like FIFA, Counter Strike, NFS and Defense of The Ancients will be a part of the show.

Participants can enroll for the competition at the Sify Gamedrome or iWay cafes by entering the password that is displayed on Animax channel.

Currently the competition is open for Indian gamers who are over 15 years of age. The contest will start on February 8 with zonal and regional competitions, eventually narrowing down to the grand finale to be held in Mumbai on Feb 28.
