Rajiv Sundar, senior director, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Private Limited (DTTIPL said: "The stellar growth shown by the top positions holders speaks highly about the business models and strategy of these companies. But what is more important is the fact that a number of our winners grew more in FY 2013 vis-à-vis FY 2012. Thus not only the companies have been able to show such high level of growth with a lower base, but have been able to keep the momentum intact even when their base revenue increased" added  Sundar.

The Deloitte Tech Fast 50 India Program conducted by DTTIPL, now in its ninth year, ranks the fastest growing technology companies in India based on their percentage revenue growth over the last three financial years. The average percentage growth for all the top 50 companies this year is 657 percent against 432 percent last year.

The overall winner in this year's ranking is Ardom Telecom Pvt. Ltd. realizing a stupendous 12023 percent three year revenue growth.

Certain long term trends are visible:

  • Internet as a segment is still evolving with the profile of winners changing rapidly
  • The software companies are adapting to changing dynamics finding new avenues of growth
Advertisment
  • Computers/peripherals and Semi-conductor devices and components, have had minimal representation amongst the winners over the last few years. This perhaps highlights how India still has a long way to go in establishing a conducive ecosystem to develop strong upstream capabilities in these segments
  • The trend echoes the sentiments noted by the investor community in the Deloitte VC survey conducted in June 2013 which highlighted that the investor confidence in sectors like semi-conductor, biotechnology and clean-tech in India is muted as compared to countries like China
