Aqua Connect releases Load Balancer for Linux

LOS ANGELES, USA: Aqua Connect, Inc., the Mac Remote Desktop Services provider, announced a new product offering in their line of Mac OS X remote access solutions. The Aqua Connect Load Balancer for Linux was designed to improve on the current functionality of the Mac version while providing a more cost efficient platform for load balancing.

The Aqua Connect Load Balancer for Mac allows organizations to harness the power of multiple servers for their Remote Desktop Services deployment. The Aqua Connect Load Balancer for Linux was developed in order to reduce the cost of deployment by using more affordable Linux hardware while also adding greater scalability and bandwidth throughput.

"When we first set out to create a proprietary load balancer for Aqua Connect Remote Desktop Services, the target market was our enterprise customers with fifty or more concurrent users," said Ronnie Exley, VP of Business Development, Aqua Connect, Inc.

"Within a year of releasing the Mac version, we found that the solution was being widely adopted in also the SMB and education markets. The proprietary Load Balancer from Aqua Connect is suitable for any organization interested in achieving the optimal level of performance from Aqua Connect Remote Desktop Services for Mac. Organizations with more than twenty concurrent users are encouraged to deploy the load balancing solution in their environment.

The hybrid design of the Aqua Connect Load Balancer merges the benefits of a TCP/IP load balancer and an intelligent Proxy Server. The Aqua Connect Load Balancer handles all incoming and outgoing traffic to Aqua Connect servers and facilitates a secure network infrastructure while maximizing performance.

The Aqua Connect Load Balancer for Linux requires Linux x86 32-bit or 64-bit operating system or amd64 FreeBSD-9.2. The Load Balancer distributes both RDP and AAP (Aqua Accelerated Protocol) client connections evenly across up to fifty Aqua Connect servers, which will provide for optimal resource utilization and increase reliability through redundancy and failover. The Aqua Connect Load Balancer is available for Linux and Mac.
