DELHI: Aptech has announced a tie-up with Mumbai-based NGO, DEEDS (Development, Education, Empowerment of the Disadvantaged in Society), to provide free IT training to its students at Aptech's Ghatkopar, Mumbai center. DEEDS works with disabled people, especially with the deaf, endeavoring to 'turn disabilities into abilities.'

Aptech, as part of its continuing socially conscious initiatives, will provide free IT training and courseware to DEEDS students in the first phase of its tie-up with the NGO.

Aptech CEO and MD Pramod Khera said, "We're pleased to be associated with DEEDS to further the cause of IT literacy. At Aptech, we believe that corporate social responsibility is an integral part of an organization's over-all commitment to society. Through the years our socially conscious activities have reflected our company's philosophy of giving back something to society. Apart from courses for students and professionals, we have in the past also designed special courseware for other citizens."

A spokesperson for DEEDS said, "We celebrate the beginning of a special relationship with Aptech. As an organization committed to playing a larger role in helping the needy, this tie-up with Aptech will add another dimension to our program and I am confident IT skills thus garnered will stand our students in good stead."
