NEW DELHI: Aptech computer education, the flagship division of Aptech Ltd., a
global IT training and education company has announced a strategic alliance with
Guru Jambeshwar University (GJU), Hissar to jointly offer IT education programs
through Aptech centers. There would be four programs, which include the Bachelor
of computer applications (BCA), Post Graduate diploma in e-Commerce
technologies, advanced diploma in Java programming and certificate in computers.
The press conference also saw the signing of the agreement between Aptech and
GJU.
Citing a survey done by A C Nielsen in 11 cities for Aptech, Aptech senior
vice pesident and divisional head Kishan Gohil said, "Around 35 per cent of
the people surveyed wanted to do a course having a duration of one year. Now in
alliance with the university we are offering short as well as long-term courses,
after completion of which students will get a degree from GJU."
GJU vice chancellor R K Chauhan, said that the objective of the university is
to make IT education available at distant places. The expertise of Aptech in IT
and that of the university in non-IT teaching would be a perfect blend.
The curriculum is developed by both Aptech and GJU that includes non-IT
topics also. The classes will be held at the Aptech centers while the university
would do the checking of examination papers. Aptech would recruit the teachers,
which would be scrutinized by a committee from GJU. The university would also do
the sifting of the candidates.
All the courses have different duration but the course fee is Rs 15,000 per
year. The alliance between Aptech and GJU is on a revenue sharing basis with 50
per cent of the fee share and the whole of the examination fee going to GJU.
Aptech registered 26 per cent growth rate last year and is targeting a growth
rate of 35 per cent this year.
