Appreciating rupee hits Allsec results

BANGALORE, INDIA: Allsec Technologies announced results for its first quarter ended June 30, 2007 on Monday.

Gross revenue for the Quarter ended 30 June 2007 was Rs.2,699.45 Lakhs against Rs.2,875.78 Lakhs for the Quarter ended 30 June 2006 recording a marginal negative growth of 6%.  However, in dollar terms the revenue for the quarter ended 30 June 2007 is higher by 5% compared to quarter ended 30 June 2006. 

Profit after taxes was at Rs.457.37 Lakhs against Rs.677.78 Lakhs recording a downward movement of 32%. The decline in revenue and profitability is mainly on account of appreciating rupee.

On a sequential basis, gross revenue was Rs. 2,699.45 Lakhs, 5.5% lower over the previous quarter ended March 2007 (Rs 2,856.78 Lakhs).

However, in dollar terms the revenue for the quarter ended 30 June 2007 is marginally higher compared to previous quarter.    Profit after taxes at Rs.457.37 Lakhs was lower by 34.62 % (compared to Rs.699.27 Lakhs of previous quarter) quarter over quarter sequentially.

New facility at Trichy:

Allsec is setting up a new 200 seat facility at Trichy which is expected to become operational in Q2 of 2007-08.   The new facility is expected to bring additional manpower and will meet the growing demands of the existing customers and the prospective client additions.
