The computer maker said in a statement it expected to post revenues of $1.4

billion to $1.45 billion in its third quarter ending in June, down from its

earlier forecast of $1.6 billion.

Apple forecast earnings of between 8 cents and 10 cents per diluted share,

down from its earlier EPS guidance of 11 cents or slightly more.

The maker of Macintosh computers said sales had slowed in the current quarter

and revenues were "particularly weak" in Europe and Japan.
