To upgrade your Apple device to the iOS 6 follow these steps: Check Settings > General > Software Update to verify if you have received the iOS 6 update. You can also look for the update in iTunes.
Let us take a look at some of the new features of the iOS 6:
1. Apple's own Maps
Apple has abandoned Google Maps and integrated their own Apple Maps. ''Map elements are vector based, so graphics and text are incredibly detailed - even when you zoom all the way in - and panning is smooth. Tilt and rotate to view an area, and Maps keeps the names of streets and places where they belong,'' says the official website.
2. Facebook integrated in iOS 6
Due to this new feature, you will have to log-in to Facebook only once. You can then post photos directly from the camera, post your location from Maps, and so on without leaving the app. Consumers' Facebook friends' profile information will directly be added to the contacts list.
3. Passbook
With the new Passbook feature, Apple users can scan their iPhone or iPod touch to check in for a flight, get into a film or redeem a voucher.
4. FaceTime on mobile networks
FaceTime now works on mobile networks as well as on iPad.
5. Upgraded Safari
Safari will have a 'reading list' feature, that saves websites you pick for offline browsing later. Also, iCloud will has a new feature called 'iCloud tabs', that will save the state of your opened tabs and open it exactly where you left off on any other iCloud-enabled device.
6. New Camera
The iOS 6 provides a panorama feature to the iPhone and iPod camera. This feature helps in providing high resolution pictures.
