Sales in Greater China were up 71 percent year-over-year, to $16.8 billion for in Q2; a 4 percent rise over Q1. China is now slowly catching up with the Apple's largest market--the Americas which reported $21.3 billion in sales this quarter. It must be noted that Apple launched its iPhone 6 series in Q1. The iPhones account for almost 70 percent of all of Apple’s revenue.

The three things that pushed the Apple sales skywards were the Chinese New Year, a bigger screen in the new iPhones leading for faster upgrades to the new models.

Mac sales also increased with a 10 percent rise in units sold as compared to Q22014. However, revenue for Mac increased only 2 percent. Unit sales were 4.5 million devices, which accounted for $5.6 billion in revenue.

iPad sales continued to struggle. Sales for Q2 were 12.6 million units; down from the 21.4 million in Q1 amd year-over-year from the 16.35 million in Q22014. This is a 23 percent decline in sales resulting in 29 percent reduction in revenue, with iPad now coming in at $5.4 billion.
