Apple launches new iPod series for Christmas

MUMBAI, INDIA: Apple announced today that it has introduced a new range of iPods this festive season. The new range varies from 1GB iPod shuffle starting at Rs. 2,300 to a 32 GB iPod touch at Rs.21,100, said a press release.

iPod Nano, which is now available in eight colours such as silver, purple, blue, green, orange, yellow, pink, and black, also sports a curved aluminum enclosure.

The second generation iPod Touch is smaller and lighter and features a thin contoured metal design, a 3.5-inch widescreen glass display, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi wireless networking, integrated volume control buttons, built-in speaker and accelerometer and other advanced sensors, the release added.

The 120 GB iPod Classic, with up to 36 hours of audio playback time and a 2.5-inch color display, now has 50 more capacity, the release added.

It can store up to 30,000 songs, 150 hours of video, 25,000 photos, or any combination. Apple also said it has introduced a RED special edition of Apple iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle, which can be bought via apple online stores. Apple said this has been introduced for a cause, as a portion of the purchase goes to AIDS Fund in Africa.
