So, there is a lot of scope in building new security apps, Gowda says, adding that he feels iOS7 will be more attractive to developers than the earlier versions, as they can earn three times more as compared to developing apps for any other mobile OS.

Girish Nuli, CEO,  Antara Software says though we have not yet published our own apps, we might be interested to develop for iOS 7 in future, since it seems to borrow heavily from MS and Google design principles. This means porting the UI will be easier.

Nuli says "I don't feel that the new features in iOS 7 are compelling enough to make Android developers to develop apps for the iOS platform.

"I would prefer to build an app for Apple platform first rather than Android or Windows," says Prashanth, a developer, who has worked for Retail app on iOS. He adds, "iOS 7 will continue to be beneficial for developers as the returns are lucrative and it ensures quality app development. Though Android platform gives more exposure to developers, they may note yield any return on investment."

"Using applications will be more exciting on iOS 7, as the entire UI has been modified and enhances multitasking. This paves way for new generation of apps," feels Prashanth.

Phil Ryu, the app developer who helped design the Clear 'To Do' app, told Wall Street Journal that he finds some aspects of the iOS 7 design 'very cluttered and dense' and hard to read with the thin typography. He is also concerned that the new control panel that users can swipe up from the bottom may get in the way of scrolling.

Investors.com came across a number of criticisms for Apple's new platform all around tech market. According to its report, Circa CEO, Matt Galligan, tweeted, 'Am I alone in thinking the iOS 7 home screen icons look ugly, poorly balanced, and of an unattractive color (palette)?'
