Apple finally opens first retail store in Mumbai: Tim Cook welcomes customers to Apple BKC

After so many regulatory hurdles and the pandemic delay, Apple finally opend  its first retail store in India on Tuesday, located in the Jio World Drive Mall at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. Apple CEO Tim Cook was present for the launch of the store along with Deirdre O’Brien, senior vice-president of Retail attended the Mumbai store’s opening.

How the first Apple Store in India looks like:

 Apple’s first retail location in India is one of the company’s most sustainable stores. The store, Apple BKC, is spread over a 20,000 square feet, and is Apple’s largest retail store in India. The store is designed to be one of the most energy-efficient Apple Store locations in the world, with a dedicated solar array and zero reliance on fossil fuels for store operations. The store is operationally carbon neutral, running on 100 percent renewable energy. Apple BKC features more than 100 team members who collectively speak over 20 languages.

Apple is making headlines this week as it opens its first retail store in India, a significant milestone roughly 25 years after entering the South Asian market. A dedicated technical support service available at Apple stores (Genius Bar), where Customers can make appointments to receive easy assistance with their Apple products regarding hardware repairs and software support. The opening of the store marks the importance of the South Asian market to Apple, which is also increasing its efforts to assemble iPhones and other products in India.
