BANGALORE: Apple Computers is

exploring the possibilities of opening retail outlets in India. The company is

now seriously evaluating market trends in India and may soon come up with retail

outlets across the country. In an exclusive chat with the CNS, Deepanshu Sharma,

Marketing Manager Apple Computers said that there is a very certain possibility

that Apple computers may open its retail outlets in India shortly but nothing

concrete is yet to come out.

"We have around 30 —35 retail outlets across the world and recently we
have opened our third outlet in Singapore so it can be a certain possibility

that we may open them in India also." Sharma said. "There have been

lot of myths and speculations with regard to the Apple products amongst

different customers and retail outlets can play a very effective role in

addressing them.

Through such retail outlets we would be able to market our products better and
it would be easier for our customers to have a true feel of our products. Apart

from this we also hope to give a stiff competition to our competitors by opening

such outlets across the country." Adds Sharma.

Sharma further remarked "The market in the US is very

mature but we are not in a position to take concrete decisions with regard to

India and we need to make a thorough evaluation of market trends before taking

any major decision here." Sharma informed that if new retail outlets come

up in the near future Apple would also keep its options open to have franchisees

for the same. But Sharma declined to give details about any other thing with

regard to the opening of new retail outlets in India.

He said that as if now it would be very premature to give further details about the number of retail outlets or their possible locations. But he was hopeful that Apple computers may come out with retail outlets if at all the possibility turns into a reality in the near future.
