HYDERABAD: Applabs Technologies, an independent software testing and development services company, is upbeat on the scope of outsourcing testing services market.
According to Nitin Chowdhary, vice president, business development, AppLabs Technologies, “the need for independent testing service providers arises as companies are differentiating development and testing as two separate entities. This apart, as the standards of documentation are increasing, the need for quality testing is growing.”
The company intends to scale up its employee strength to 1,000 by the end of FY 2006. It is also strengthening its marketing presence in the US, UK and India.
“We have recently set up a marketing office in the UK. Besides, we are initiating partnerships with large system integrators in the UK for business development. While aggressive marketing strategies continue in the US, we are equally strengthening business development practice in the Indian market,” said Chowdhary.
Detailing on hiring plans, Chowdhary said, “We presently have 650 offshore professionals and 50 onsite staff. By the end of fiscal 2006, we intend to scale the total headcount to 1,000.”
Software testing services market is around $13 billion worldwide. The market for outsourcing testing work is pegged at $3 billion. Testing services contribute 3/4th of the total revenues for Applabs.
