New platform allows them to develop and exchange new monitoring, alerting and cloud scaling plugins via AppDynamics eXchange - an ecosystem for developers to build and share custom plugins - as well as AppSphere, an open community for sharing ideas and best practices, said a press release.
AppSphere is an open community that serves as a one-stop learning destination for the AppDynamics user base as well as any IT professional who wishes to join.

At the same time, AppDynamics also introduced AppDynamics eXchange (or AppDynamics X for short)-where users of AppDynamics and third-party developers can access, create, and share plugins, integrations, and extensions for AppDynamics Pro.
AppDynamics X APIs provide the ability to bring in custom metrics and events and leverage all of AppDynamics' data analysis and correlation abilities. AppDynamics X APIs also provide the ability to build custom alerts, custom remediation mechanisms, and custom visualizations. Users can leverage AppDynamics X APIs to track, graph, alert, and correlate metrics from any component of their application infrastructure - such as cloud platforms, databases, caches, queues, and hardware - in an easy and scalable manner.
