APAC stays positive on mainframes

PUNE, INDIA: BMC Software, player in in Business Service Management has announced its annual mainframe survey results for the fifth year.

BMC’s survey of over 1,500 mainframe customers offers insights into current and future IT priorities and perspective on how responses to survey questions have changed over the years, as a press note shares.

APAC highlights from the survey show a steady increase of investments in mainframe in the APAC region.

APAC respondents are finding that mainframes are increasingly used.

The global findings show that 84 per cent of respondents expected to see growing or steady MIPS growth on the platform, a figure that has remained consistent over the past several years. Also, 57 per cent of respondents indicated that the mainframe will grow and attract new workloads over the next year.

Also, a significant number of respondents (65 percent) were concerned about reducing IT costs in the next year.
