HYDERABAD: The AP government is all set to have a Human Resource Management System in place that would provide the government with a complete HR solution and manpower planning. The system is running on a pilot basis as of now and is likely to be launched officially after September 2003.

"This system will provide an easy and efficient way to track the performance of an employee through the web. Initially, the system is going to be implemented in four different areas - Police department, Educational institutions, Social welfare services and commercial tax department. This apart, the system will also be used for three institutes within AP - APPA, SERT and MCRHRD institute. The idea is to develop a web interface and keep a track of an employees complete career performance over the net," said, Subu M Kota, Chairman at the Boston Group.

Boston Group is providing its expertise in the area of e-learning for the same project and Chennai based Ramco would be providing its HR software package for the same project. "We are going to provide the e-learning platform on which this whole application would run and US based consulting firm Hewitt will provide the consultancy for this project," he added.

Once the project is up and running it would be marketed jointly with the help of AP government to other states as well. The project is being executed on a private public partnership model and once the system generates revenue, it would be shared between all the companies and the government of AP.

"There are a lot of other states within India who are currently on track for e-governance and they will surely be interested in something like this which could give them hassle free monitoring for their complete HR system," Kota added.
