The Department plans to roll out a web-based online system to monitor the attendance of the students and the staff, timely payment of bills, maintenance of stock registers, implementation of the prescribed menu and various other tasks.

The e-governance initiative has been named as the 'Hostel Project' and it is likely to get operational in June this year.

This e-governance initiative would be on similar lines of the 'Online Hostel Monitoring System', which was implemented successfully by the Social Welfare Department of Andhra Pradesh. After the implementation of this initiative, the tribal welfare ashram schools and hostels will function on a paperless format.

The initiative also aims at tracking the health status of the students of the tribal welfare educational institutions online. Hostel wardens and headmasters concerned will be trained and issued user ID and passwords for the 'Hostel Project'.
