AOL kills its Indian portal, AOL.in

BANGALORE, INDIA: AOL, which was an Internet giant till a few years back, seems to have closed down its India portal it seems. Those who try to access the AOL.in website are automatically redirected to aol.coolage.in, a website for students.

Earlier this year, AOL had announced that it would slash 700 jobs in India and a further 200 in the US in the wake of its $315 million deal to buy the Huffington Post news site.

For quite some time there had been rumours that AOL is closing down its India website.

Though there has been no official confirmation, the absence of AOL.in is a clear indicatio that AOL has killed Indian site. However, AOL.com is still online.
