BANGALORE: ANZ has announced that its subsidiary ANZ Information Technology (ANZIT)

will be a key participant and enabler in its ambitious e-transformation plan.

The e-transformation strategy involves restructuring of ANZ’s current

technology, premises and operational infrastructure across the entire group. ANZ

chief information officer David Boyles, currently on a visit to ANZIT, said,

"The e-transformation program will provide our customers with a

personalized, multi-channel experience through seamless channel integration, Web

enablement and customer relationship management (CRM) technology. The program

will focus on developing a robust and flexible infrastructure, developing

e-commerce capabilities and reducing costs through higher productivity, lower

complexity, straight through processing and automation of administrative

functions for ANZ."

Elaborating on ANZ’s technology vision, Boyles said, "ANZ has already

demonstrated technology leadership in a number of areas centering on Web-based

solutions. Examples include rolling out Internet Banking in New Zealand within

10 weeks based on our standardized Web architecture, rapidly establishing

important, and end-to-end Web-based products and services such as eAuto, FX

Online and eGate. These success stories have been possible because of the close

alignment of business and IT and ANZ will continue to rely heavily on

technology, especially on our Indian IT subsidiary ANZIT." He said that the

company has invested Aus $2 million in expanding the infrastructure at Bangalore.

"The organization is expected to grow to over 400 people by 2001," he

added.

Speaking about his future plans for India, ANZIT MD Sunderarajan said,

"Our focus for the next two years will be aggressive growth at 40 per cent,

achieving SEI CMM Quality certification, enhancing our business consulting

skills and developing strong capabilities in the areas of e-commerce,

middleware, imaging, workflow and CRM."
