E-commerce giant Flipkart has announced that one of its key executives Anil Goteti will step down. Anil had been with the company since 2012. He will step down from his role to pursue entrepreneurial ambitions.
In a letter addressed to employees, Flipkart Group CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy said:
“This is to inform you that Anil Goteti, Senior Vice President and Head of the M3 organisation, has decided to move on from Flipkart to pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions.”
During his time at Flipkart, Anil handled various categories such as mobiles, furniture, and also 2GUD. His recent role involved acquiring new customers, increasing the transaction base, and driving the loyalty programmes. The letter added that Anil has played a pivotal role in turning around and scaling up the marketplace and helped deliver consistent growth. Anil also played a key role in our fundraising efforts during his marketplace role.
Goteti will remain with Flipkart till November 2020 and further in a consultative capacity after the Big Billion Days sale. Vikas Gupta and Prakash Sikaria will now handle the joint responsibilities of Goteti.
Vikas will lead the customer and marketing charter. Meanwhile, Prakash will take leadership of loyalty and supercoils programme in addition to driving ads and video. Both Vikas and Prakash will report to Kalyan.
Many changes in Flipkart
In recent months, there have been several changes in the company's leadership team. In May, it elevated five executives -- Manish Kumar, Anand Laxminarayan, Ranjeet D, Ravish Kumar Sinha and Ravi Iyer – to senior vice presidents. There are around 14 SVPs in Flipkart who report directly to Krishnamurthy.
In December, Head of Fashion and SVP Rishi Vasudev quit and joined Lifestyle International as CEO. A few months back, Group CFO Emily McNeal also resigned from the company.
