Angelina, Obama are celebs of choice for spammers

BANGALORE, INDIA: Angelina Jolie and Barak Obama are the #1 celeb subjects of choice for spammers, according to McAfee's January Spam Report, which was recently released. The report also reveals:

 *       The top 25 men and women that were spammed - did you know that Michael Jackson and Paris Hilton were in the top ten?

*       Chinese pharma spam isn't going away - in fact, on Dec 14, spam levels skyrocketed with subject lines advertising discounts on Pfizer drugs

*       "Free-hosting" websites to provide spam URLs has become a major target for spammers

 "Be mindful the next time you see your favorite celebrity name hit your inbox," said Adam Wosotowsky, anti-spam technology lead for McAfee Labs. "This year wasn't just a big year for Obama in office; he was also the number one celebrity spam target of the year.”
