BANGALORE, INDIA:  To better manage workflow through ACTc, a primary reference tool, used by all clinicians, may now look a possibility.

The will enable clinicians to understand the multiple nuances of anesthesia sciences, to improve workflow, to make educated decisions and to become better clinicians.

As per a press release, Endeavour Software Technologies, an Enterprise Mobile Consulting and mobile application/product development services provider, has announced their collaboration with Gasshead for the development of Anesthesia Clinical Tutor and Calculator (ACTc).

This mobile application bridges the gap between clinical anesthesia and reference books and practical functioning. This application on Windows Mobile and Palm simplifies and guides the anesthetists by assembling easy to use interactive tools, performs all complex calculations and gives instant results with guided explanations to ensure coverage of critical points.

Endeavour helped with higher level of coding and support and Version 3.0, the first commercial version of this software was launched.

ACTc is a primarily an anesthesia learning tool. Its appeal is that it not only deals in fundamentals of anesthesia learning, but also helps to assimilate more advance considerations. In next version, a great emphasis will be placed on increasing understanding via graphical tools and improved tools to enhance work flow and data retrieval with an added benefit of Clinical Networking.

To further the educational experience of ACTc, this new feature will provide clinicians with the ability to share case knowledge, provide feedback on other clinician's case management, and ask detailed anesthesia related questions, the company adds.

ACTc helps patient with their data to set up screen and Case Fluid/ Drug Customizer. Inhalation screens and MAC calculators for age, temperature, time constants (Context Sensitive Decrement Times), MAC multiples, MH (Malignant Hyperthermia) - approved by US and Canadian MH Associations, Adult and pediatric drug databases plus drip calculator, Fluid requirements calculator, Vital statistic page (pediatrics), Regional anatomical Images - Spinal and epidural guides, Local anesthetic information, Regional opiates information. Blood and resuscitation calculators, and Calculation database with complete reference & recommended readings.

This will help in migration of the product to a web based format for available access for any device with internet access. Not only will this appeal to larger groups but enable up to date changes of the program and data, current and timely communication mediums, and decrease need for individual resident program development. It has greater emphasis on graphical presentation to enhance understanding and incorporate greater case planning.
