Although it is quite possible that the location-specific advantages might have put the state ahead in the race, but there are some other factors also which Apple might have counted in before heading for Andhra Pradesh.

As per CMR-MXpresso Mobilytiks insights, the state is also among the top 10 telecom circles in India by subscriber base, where the socio-economic profile of the population is favorable for selling premium segment smartphone like iPhone.

Among the top 10 telecom circles, Maharashtra (excluding Mumbai) and Gujarat circles  contribute more than 15% each to iPhone sales in India, mainly fueled by cities such as Pune, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara.

While, rest of the circles just contribute between 1-5% to iPhone sales, Andhra Pradesh touches close to 10%, which is catalyzed by the tech-savvy IT workforce that has close affinity to a phone like iPhone, which makes it all the more interesting destination for Apple to focus on going forward.
