With more than a billion connections, the team at Google’s secretive X lab, created a brain style neural network using 16,000 processor array.

As per a report on Daily Mail, the 'neural network' was then sent to internet presented with 10 million random images found in YouTube videos, to learn on its own.

"Contrary to what appears to be a widely-held intuition, our experimental results reveal that it is possible to train a face detector without having to label images as containing a face or not," said Jeff Dean of Google, who led the research team.
