Last week, players across the globe noticed their in-game chat in Among Us filled with messages promoting Loris’ YouTube channel. This is one of the few instances where Among Us hacks were prominent. Other messages asked players to vote for Trump, along with the YouTube promotion. A few users also actively reported that they were not able to play at all; i.e. the game played on its own accord.

Thus, the company developer took to Twitter to address that they were working on bringing an update to the game. As of now, the developers have updated the app and it has some anti-hack systems. Thereby, if the game finds you a potential hacker, it will remove you from the game.

The Among Us game, in an announcement states,

Hey everyone!

The servers now have some anti-hacks which seem to help. The servers might accidentally ban you for hacking until all the bugs are fixed. If you aren't hacking, don't worry and join a new room. We are also working on an accounting system with reporting and moderation features to fight toxicity. We will launch it as soon as it is done sometime in November

Thanks for playing!

Developer Forest Willard rolled out an emergency update last week. He said that he was aware of the current hacking trouble and the team was looking into it. He also advised users to play private games or with people they trust. Also, he said that delay in the update was to avoid false positive. The current anti-hacks update will resolve chat spam.

He added that the game does block all hacks. If it is a false update, users should find another room and play again. Although this hack mostly happened on the North America server, Among Us has updated the entire app. Further, just so you know, Eurogamer even reported the hacker stating in an interview that he hit 1.5 million games and affecting 4.9 million Among Us players in total.

In that case, we advise you not to pay attention to the hack, as it is only aiming at publicity. Also, try only to play with people you know.
