AMD microprocessor sales to dip

SAN FRANCISCO: Chip maker Advanced Micro Devices Inc. expects its microprocessor business to report slightly lower sales in the current period versus the fourth quarter, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Last month AMD held out the possibility that microprocessor sales could be about even with the fourth quarter, saying in a statement at the time that sales would be "flat to slightly down" in the period.
