Buying clothing online can be tricky because of size issues. So to ease that problem, Amazon is launching a program in the US that lets customers try clothes before purchasing them. The program is part of 'Prime Wardrobe', which is currently in beta, but shoppers can sign up to be notified when it launches.

Under the program, you can buy at least 3 items and up to 15 items from more than a million Amazon Fashion items including clothes, shoes and accessories to fill your Prime Wardrobe box with no upfront cost. Amazon Prime Wardrobe is free for Prime members with no extra charges.

Once the Amazon's delivery box arrives, you can try on the clothes or accessories. Within seven days, buyers can either schedule a free pick up or drop the resealable box with its prepaid shipping label at a nearby UPS shipping services location to return whatever you don't want.

Every customer will get a 10 percent discount if he/she chooses to keep 2-3 items, while a 20 percent discount on keeping four or all of the items. Notably, not all clothing sold on Amazon would be eligible for Prime Wardrobe; items that can be put in a Wardrobe Box would be marked with a logo for the service.

By taking the hassle out of returns for clothing, Amazon could make people much more comfortable to do online apparel purchase. The risk-free aspect of Prime Wardrobe could attract hitherto untapped shoppers who prefer "try before you buy." The move could also be lucrative for Amazon, as apparel’s share of all digital spend has been going up steadily.
