NEW DELHI, INDIA: Over a 100 of India’s most celebrated thought leaders, successful entrepreneurs and top bankers will put their heads together at The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Entrepreneurial Summit 2010 in December this year to generate ideas for doubling the number of private ventures in the country’s thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Nearly 2,000 entrepreneurs across sectors will participate in this entrepreneurial summit that kicks off on December 21 in New Delhi. The event will host a series of interactive sessions with home grown entrepreneurs and other stake holders, said a press release. TiE is the world’s largest organization dedicated to the advancement of entrepreneurship.
The annual summit will offer attendees an opportunity to learn about entrepreneurial opportunities in booming industries like education and training, clean technology, Internet, retail, telecom and social sectors among others, said the organizers.
Dwelling on the summit theme, Enterprising India, TiE Chairman Emeritus Saurabh Srivastava said, “Deployment of technology in education, healthcare, skill development at the bottom of the pyramid offers vast opportunities for entrepreneurs. A dialogue between Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen and Infosys’ founder NR Narayana Murthy on day one will set the tone of deliberations over the next three days.”
“To fulfill its aspiration of doubling the number of private ventures, the TiE summit will seed the idea of turning young graduates into entrepreneurs and job creators. For this, TiE will initiate a series of engagements with Indian youth to open their minds to the vast entrepreneurial opportunities,” said Pradeep Gupta, president, TiE Delhi NCR, and also the chairman and managing director of Cybermedia Group.
As a run up to the conference, TiE Delhi NCR has launched some initiatives including the “Idea2Enterprise”, a student business plan competition to identify their innovative ideas. The participants will find session on risks and rewards of entrepreneurship meaningful. The Gurukul sessions by successful TiE members will help reassure budding entrepreneurs that they are on the right track.
