BANGALORE: Alopa Networks, engaged in providing fully integrated broadband
subscriber solutions and operational support systems (OSS) applications will
deploy its MetaServ provisioning platform for US based WideOpenWest (WOW).
According to an agreement signed in this effect, Alopa will also offer
client-side PC qualification software across the network.
WOW provides cable television and broadband services in the United States.
The cable firm will use the platform to qualify, provision, activate, and
mediate current and future service offerings across its expansive open access
based infrastructure.
"WideOpenWest has taken the lead in developing a unique competitive open
access environment because we believe in providing alternatives to our
customers," said WideOpenWest vice president, Mike Jury. "Finding the
right provisioning solution that would allow us to take this revolutionary
network to the next level has proven challenging. Alopa made the decision easy
for us by providing a comprehensive end-to-end solution that supports this
vision."
"We are excited by WOW's decision to use our solution. WOW's future
service requirements and roadmap is a perfect complement with Alopa's vision and
philosophy on the future of broadband," commented, Alopa Networks managing
director, Vijaya Verma. "We took the time in the design stages to build a
future-proof architecture that enables broadband service providers such as WOW
to optimize their return on investment by leveraging their existing
infrastructure. In addition to Open Access support, WOW is now in a position to
offer new and differentiated revenue generating services without incurring
additional expenses. That has always been the mission of Alopa."
