EMC’s appointment confirms industry speculations that cropped up ever since Ohrie resigned from the post of AMD India’s managing director and vice president.

Ohrie will succeed Manoj Chugh, who has been promoted to lead the Global Accounts Practice for EMC in Asia Pacific and Japan.

Ohrie will lead EMC’s India & SAARC sales and service organizations with responsibility for the region’s total revenue, its current and future customers, and EMC’s various partners.

He will work closely with Sarv Saravanan, who is responsible for EMC's Center of Excellence based in Bangalore, to expand EMC's products and services capabilities in India.

“The EMC information infrastructure value proposition for India customers and partners in the enterprise and commercial markets has never been stronger, and I look forward to building upon the strong foundation established by EMC under the leadership of Manoj Chugh,” said Ohrie.

Prior to AMD, Ohrie worked with IBM Global Services India for 13 years occupying a number of executive management positions. He also worked at Wipro Infotech and ESPL Limited.

Ohrie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communication from National Institute of Technology (formerly REC) Suratkal.
