EAST ROCHESTER, N.Y.: Allworx, which develops Internet Protocol-based (IP) phone systems that deliver new capabilities and efficiency to small and medium-sized businesses (SMB), has announced the availability of a new IP phone specifically designed for high-volume call use. Allworx also unveiled a companion expansion unit that adds line and programmable features as business needs grow.
The new IP phone, the Allworx 9224, is the latest addition to the company's 9200 series. The Allworx 9224 is a state-of-the-art, feature-rich phone that is ideal for SMBs that place and receive a high volume of calls and for receptionists who monitor a large number of lines. The Allworx 9224 comes standard with a built-in RJ-11 headset port, integrated Ethernet Switch and 10 function keys, including: Messages, Intercom, Conference, Transfer, Release, Park, Info, Speaker, Mute/DND and Hold. The Allworx 9224 supports 24-line appearances and one-button access to an array of programmable features with its Programmable Function Keys (PFKs).

The new Allworx Tx 92/24 Expander integrates with the 9224 to add one-touch features and the ability to monitor and route a high volume of calls directly from the handset. The plug-and-play module allows up to three units to daisy chain without manual configuration. Key features and benefits of the Tx 92/24 Expander include:
- 24 additional line/PFKs per unit, extending the scalability in the 9200 phone series to 96 PFKs with a single phone
- Up to three Allworx Tx 92/24 Expander Units can be seamlessly integrated alongside the Allworx 9224 phone
- Programmable PFKs that contain multi-color LED status and alerts, and that can be programmed to perform any of the following functions: Busy Lamp Field (BLF), Call Appearance, Call Monitor, Centrex Flash, Day/Night Mode, Headset, Info, Park, Personal Speed Dial, Redial, Line Appearance, Parking Orbit, Queue Appearance, Speed Dial, and Messages.
The Allworx 9224 and all attached Tx 92/24 Expanders can be set up as tabletop or wall-mounted units. The adjustable tilt base allows users to position the phone to an optimal viewing angle. Three-party conferencing support and hands-free, full-duplex speakerphone capabilities are standard. The unit is powered either by an included DC adapter or by Power over Ethernet. All attached Tx 92/24 units are powered directly from the Allworx 9224 phone.
