All for the sake of interoperability

BANGALORE: Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation has announced that it has signed a multiyear agreement with Microsoft to ensure product interoperability by jointly testing analysis services in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and the forthcoming SQL Server 2005 with new releases of Teradata's datawarehouse solutions.







As part of the agreement, Teradata will provide its latest release of Teradata Warehouse 7.1 and supply consulting services to assist Microsoft in testing and optimization. The companies will publish best practices for using the products together.







"Microsoft is working closely with industry partners to continue delivering on its commitment to provide customers with better connectivity," said Microsoft Corp SQL Server business intelligence GM Bill Baker. "Our relationship with Teradata is an example of this commitment as it ensures that SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services will interoperate with Teradata to provide increased support and flexibility for our mutual customers," he added.







"With this agreement, our customers can leverage the strengths of these combined technologies to better manage their businesses, improve productivity and unlock their enterprise data to truly allow enterprise-driven decision making," said Teradata's business manager, Amrish Rau.
