Alcatel-Lucent appoints new leadership team

PARIS, FRANCE: Alcatel-Lucent, a leading provider in voice, data and video communication solutions, today announced the appointment of a new leadership team effective January 1, 2009.

The new team formed of a nice blend of leaders coming from outside the company, new talents from inside the company and existing senior leaders, will support a new business model focused on customers and technology excellence, said a press release.

The new business model comprises three regions – Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and APAC that will be headed by: Robert Vrij, president Americas; Adolfo Hernandez, president EMEA and Etienne Fouques, president APAC.

Three newly created organizations will be headed by Kenneth Frank, president, solutions and marketing; Janet Davidson, president, quality and customer care and Michel Rahier, president operations.

Alcatel-Lucent also announced a new leadership team in order to reflect the company's focus on open innovation led by Bell Labs, state-of-the-art product and software innovation as well as its continued momentum in services and enterprise markets, the release said.

The groups will be headed by Philippe Keryer, president carrier product group; Andy Williams, president services group; Paul Segre, president applications software group and Tom Burns, president enterprise product group. Paul will additionally continue to be president and CEO of Genesys, the release said.
