Akamai's CEO and president, Paul Sagan said that the company is in the process of integrating the India operations of the Bangalore subsidiary of Speedera Networks, Inc., which Akamai acquired on June 10 in a stock-for-stock transaction estimated between $130 to $160 million.

“We have 56 employees in India which is the third largest office for Akamai world wide. We see India playing a key role in the emerging global demand economy,” said Sagan.

Following the integration, the combined entity would come under a single unified brand, he informed.

Sagan informed that the acquisition was made both for acquiring Speedera's technology capabilities as well as for its good customer base. Speedera offers reporting and data intelligence technologies which will add to our capabilities,” he said. Speedera's Indian clientele includes Rediff, NDTV, Sify and Wipro among others.
