This proprietary tool developed by Ajax, enhances the marketing efforts of

medical representatives by optimizing the bi-directional flow of information

between the pharmaceutical firm and the medical practitioner. This information

management system enables the representative to maintain practitioners records

and their affinities. It also gives their competitors data for allied products,

planning sales pitch, daily scheduling, analyzing and developing strategies

based on practitioners feedback, tour budgeting and expenditure maintenance,

generating various reports, etc.,

Ajax Communications, director Akhil Shahani said, "MDSales is a tailor

made product for medical representatives to effectively and efficiently make a

sales pitch. By using MDSales, representatives can gain and manage crucial data

and descriptions of drug benefits, keeping the physicians and pharmacists

updated about drug interactions, contraindications, and adverse effects to

facilitate their decision-making and advice-giving."

Ajax Communications, founded in 1998, is engaged in providing software

products, customized development and consultancy in the areas of enterprise

solutions, knowledge management and IT training.

MDSales is the second product to be introduced by Ajax, the first product

Ajax Knowledge Sphere (AKS), a knowledge management framework, was launched

earlier in April 2002.

"Our market research revealed that the inability of medical

representatives to completely understand the features of their own products and

the specific needs of the medical practitioners was a main drawback while

selling new products. There is a need for a knowledge transfer link between the

companies and the physician which would make a difference in the choice of

drugs," Shahani added.
