Airtel, RIM intros GPS-enabled Pearl 8110

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Bharti Airtel and Research In Motion (RIM) today launched the new BlackBerry Pearl 8110 smartphone with built-in GPS in India.

The new smartphone features built-in GPS combined with WayFinder Navigator, which enables users to save their favourite locations and share routes and maps with others by email.

WayFinder Navigator, an after-market offering from Airtel, provides audible, turn-by-turn navigation and comes with maps covering major cities and road networks across India.

WayFinder Navigator can be downloaded from the Airtel's website and is available for a free six month trial.

BlackBerry Pearl 8110 smartphone features: GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity, access to email, phone, organizer, browser and other mobile applications.

It is equipped with two mega pixel camera with flash and 5x zoom. BlackBerry Internet Service provides users with the ability to access upto 10 supported email accounts, including most ISP email accounts, from a single device.

The BlackBerry Pearl 8110 will be available from Airtel for Rs 24,990.
