The launch of the enhanced version of the CallHome service marks an important step by Airtel to further strengthen its focus on the 2.5 million-strong NRIs in the US market. Another unique feature of the upgraded experience on www.airtelcallhome .com is the enablement of payment through Indian credit cards for purchasing talk time for calling India from US. This feature will be particularly useful for over 700,000 Indian H1B visa holders, business travelers, tourists and students in the US.

The enhanced CallHome service will offer an all-new experience with unmatched call clarity at great value for money rates. Now, using the unique Hotline service, a customer will be able to configure upto ten of his most frequently dialed numbers with a single-key access dial at greatly reduced call rates which are 30 percent lesser than other offerings in the market. Additionally, an attractive customer referral reward program will offer free talk-time. The upgraded service also offers an Easy Dial facility that enables customers to configure up to 50 numbers for quick dialing. Customers would shortly be able to avail a host of amazing new value added services like astrology, cricket, etc that enable customers to listen to and keep in touch with their roots in India. All of these enhanced features will be available to customers at a refreshed and contemporary portal - www.airtelcallhome.com.

Speaking on the occasion, David Nishball, President, Enterprise Services, Bharti Airtel Ltd. said, "When we launched the Airtel CallHome service a year ago, we set an unprecedented benchmark in pricing in the virtual calling card segment. With the launch of the enhanced version and the enablement of payment through Indian credit cards, we are aiming to revolutionize the customer calling experience.” He added, “With the success of the CallHome service in the US, we will be extending our service to target NRIs in two more countries by Q1 of FY 08-09.”

Airtel launched the CallHome service in the US in December 2006. Keeping with its focus on continually enhancing the customer experience, a benchmarking exercise was conducted which mapped customer calling behaviour and preferences which were incorporated in the upgraded features. With the launch of the enhanced version of the CallHome service, Airtel is set to redefine the way customers call India from the US.
