Airtel launches 'All India' recharge coupon

CHENNAI: Airtel has announced the launch of recharge coupon, which will enable customers to buy a recharge card anywhere in the country to top up their prepaid card. It has also launched an Electronic Recharge Suite for the benefit of its prepaid customers, which enables recharging by just sending an SMS or using a bank ATM. For this service, Airtel has tied up with Citibank, HDFC, UTL, IDBI and SBI and this facility will be available at 4,500 ATMs.

Currently, prepaid customers need to purchase recharge coupons in their home network. The All India Recharge coupon, instead, would be available across India and would enable customers to recharge their prepaid cards from anywhere in the country. So, while roaming a customer can buy this coupon and top his account without making a long distance call.

The launch of the national recharge coupon has been made possible by the integration of AirTel’s four different Intelligent Networks (IN) and 28 switches. The coupon priced at Rs 810, comes with a talk time of Rs 600, a processing fee of Rs 150 and includes a sales tax of Rs 60. The validity of the coupon would be for 45 days. To use this coupon for recharge, anywhere in the country, customers needs to dial * 141 * < 16 digit recharge code > # from their mobiles.
