Airtel landline connections down in Bangalore

BANGALORE, INDIA: Bharti Airtel landline connections have gone dead in Bangalore region since Wednesday afternoon affecting hundreds of customers.

According to sources, Airtel's optic fiber cable wires were damaged in the heart of the city resulting in the downtime.

Enquiries with Bharti Airtel confirmed that the downtime was the result of a damage to cable line in Chickpet area in the city. As a result, fixed line connections have been affected in most parts of Bangalore city.
