Airtel to commercialize 3G by year-end

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Indian telecom services major Bharti Airtel today said that it will commercialize its 3G services by this year end.

“We have set up 200 3G experience zones across top cities of the country,” said Sanjay Kapoor, CEO of Bharti Airtel in India and South Asia, here today, at an event organized to unveil the new brand identity of the telecom major. It also unveiled a signature tune composed by A R Rahman.

On the occasion, Bharti Group Chairman Sunil Mittal said that the new brand identity will be launched in Nigeria and Zain's identity will be changed to the new one.

Mittal also said the mobile phone operator has 200 million customers on its network.
