The launch of this latest version marks a particular milestone for the ASSET solution as it introduces support for WiFi - a major radio technology addition to the platform. ASSET 8.1 also features support for small cells design, working together with major geo-locating solutions which provide specific ASSET-format traffic exportation, as well as with AIRCOM's MYRIAD model and Capesso AI, to provide a complete small cell network design solution. This release marks a new phase in the ASSET line, putting it firmly at the forefront of small cell and het net design projects.

CONNECT 8.1 is focused on addressing some key customer requests and laying the foundations for imminent small cell backhaul requirements. This latest version includes the Coverage Predictions feature, which is aimed at non-line-of-sight (NLOS) as well as point-to-multipoint (PTMP) links. This means that it sits squarely within the small cells path, since both NLOS and PTMP will be required for accurate small cell network design.

"ASSET and CONNECT represent our leading network design tools, and these latest updates will ensure that they continue to deliver optimal solutions for operators dealing complex and evolving networks," said Calum Byers, COO at AIRCOM International.

"The new features focus predominantly on enhancing the small cell design capabilities of the solutions, which combined with the existing breadth of capabilities in ASSET and CONNECT make these releases a significant evolution of our design and performance management portfolio."
