Aircel to sell towers to GTL Infra for $1.8bn

MUMBAI, INDIA: Indian telecoms tower firm GTL Infrastructure agreed to buy the tower assets of Aircel for about 85 billion rupees ($1.8 billion), sources said.

GTL Infrastructure will buy 17,500 telecom towers owned by Aircel, a unit of Malaysia's Maxis Communications.

The deal is expected to be announced on Thursday.
