Nine companies, including Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications, Vodafone Essar, Idea Cellular, Tata Teleservices, Aircel, Etisalat, S Tel and Videocon Telecommunications - took part in the online auction that started April 9. No single operator could win the bid for pan- India coverage.
